  1. Hi,
I have been impressed by the valuable information & insights you provide on your website.
I see the opportunity to collaborate on content that would benefit your readers.
I’d happily share our experience and previous work if you’re interested.
Let’s discuss topics you may still need to cover on your blog.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to working together.

  2. Hi,
I want to take your Mastering Medical Spanish course, however to receive reimbursement at my institution, the program must be accredited by either the US Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Is your program accredited?

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Kathryn, our MMS courses carry a professional accreditation through the American Academy of Family Physicians and the California Board of Registered Nursing. It sounds like you need university credit, not professional credit. Is that true? If that’s the case, our Medical Spanish Immersion trips are accredited for Undergraduate Spanish credits (200 level – ie. 2nd year). Maybe that’s a better fit for you?

      1. Hi Rory,

Where would I find that accreditation information on your website so that I could attempt to submit it to my company? I don’t see it on the trip descriptions. I Just see the cme info. Thanks!

  3. Hi Rory
I did the Costa Rico trip a few years back. My son is EMT, about 80 percent fluent and wants to get more experience with medical Spanish. He is going to visit a friend in Panama at end of March. Are there any programs there that you are aware of that are good?
    Thank you

  4. Good morning,

I am in 3rd year of a Medical Science Degree and I am applying to medical school next fall.
I am interested in the medical spanish immersion program in Costa Rica and volunteering in a clinic.
Is this a possibility as a student?
    Thank you,
    Isabella

    1. Good morning Isabella, thanks for reaching out! We certainly accept pre-health students on our medical Spanish Immersion programs. Volunteering in a local clinic is a little tougher. Sometimes there are opportunities for trained specialists, but it’s a lot more challenging to find opportunities like that for students. I’ll email you and we can set up a call to discuss. Cheers, Rory

  5. Konner Feldhus

Hello! Getting an alert that I do not have access to my Spanish class. It started just a few weeks ago. Any advice or help is appreciated!

  6. Hello,
I am a 3rd year medical student hoping to participate in the costa rica immersion plan for next year (January). I am trying to be able to submit this program as part of an elective for my 4th year, but I need some more information about the day to day life of the program and I was wondering if there was anyone I could contact to discuss this?
    Thank you

  7. I am in the beginning stages of planning an immersion/service learning trip for my high school Spanish students for Spring ’23. Very conscious of budget. Do you offer a 10-12 day trip for a high school group? If so, cost. Thanks much. -Paula

I want to do the june 11the CR/ED medical trip. I just want to make sure you are doing it. When do I need to have it paid and flights booked? and I thought I saw somewhere a discount for 3 weeks or greater for healthcare or student which I am both. I am a nurse and an anesthesia student. I have taken classes with you at North Suburban medical center. Can you please email me? Thanks a million!

  9. Average costs? I am just looking to have the most immersive program I can with a host family in a safe place where I can travel. Possibly a host family with young adults my age that I can provide benefit to them as well as I learn from them. The place doesn’t matter, as much as full immersion with people who want to adventure and live life fun. I love religion and would love to participate with whoever I would live with. I would probably want to travel to one of the cheapest programs as I am a college student on a budget.

  10. Hello I enrolled in the medical spanish course due to start this week but don’t have the information for the online portion in order to get started. there is also a test that I need to take but don’t have that link either. Will you please resend to me? thank you!

  11. Hello –

I was interested in taking the Medical Masterclass but I wasn’t sure which level I should register for. Is there a proficiency quiz I can take before registering? Also, I am an RN and my schedule doesn’t always work to have Tuesday nights free. Is that okay or will that greatly affect the course for me?

    Thanks!

  12. My husband and I are interested in a spanish immersion program. We are in our 60’s. We do know some high school spanish. Is this program appropriate for “seniors” or near-seniors?

  13. Mikaela Matthews

    Hello,

I wanted to inquire and see if you guys had any long-term Spanish immersion programs? I am interested in attending the medical Spanish immersion program but am looking for a 2-4 month program.

    Thanks so much in advance!

    1. Hi Mikaela, yes we can certainly arrange that for you with some longer-term volunteering projects, etc. We should set up a phone call to discuss. Try giving me a call Mon-Fri here (303) 684-5557

  14. Hello, I believe I am signed up for MMS Intermediate level starting tomorrow, October 12, but I don’t have any recent emails about it, wondering if I missed something? Thanks, Ruth

  15. Hi, my name is Laura Martins, I’m Brazilian and a journalism student, I’ve lived in Costa Rica so I’m fluent in Spanish and my goal now is to become fluent in English! What plan could I study with you and get the I-20 for a student visa and how much would it cost?

    Thank you,

    Laura

  16. I am a medical provider and interested in signing up for a 1-2 weeks CME immersion course. The dates do not go beyond July 2021. When are you going to announce the future dates and destinations? Thank you.

    1. Thank you for the note Salah! Our next program will begin at the end of January 2022 to Costa Rica. Then we’ll have another summer session in June and July in Ecuador & Costa Rica (respectively). We should have those dates updated by the end of this month of June. Thanks,

  17. Interested in probably 3 week Spanish Immersion adult program. Not sure what to do to get started… Can you call or email me? Want to get started as soon as I can.

    Thank You,

    Patrick

  18. The City of Omaha Police Department would like to order fifty-one (51) SPEEDY SPANISH FOR POLICE PERSONNEL BOOKLETS. Does your company accept Purchase Orders on a net-30 day account? or do you only accept credit card payments?

    1. Hi Rita, we do accept POs and CC payments. However, I believe Louise Newcomb is already in the process of generating a PO for your order. We spoke on the phone earlier this week. Email me if you’re taking over the purchase and we can get you taken care of!

  19. Hi Rory,

I am interested in your “mastering medical spanish” class – I see that it is approved for category 1 CME for physicians and nurses – is it also approved for physician assistants by the AAPA?

How long are the Tuesday zoom sessions and what is the structure of those meetings?

    Thank you!
    Christie

    1. Hi Christie, our accreditation is Category 1 credits through the AAFP and should be transferable for all providers (PAs, NPs included). Probably best to check with AAPA to confirm – but I’m 99% sure it satisfies your continuing ed requirements.

  20. Hi Rory,

I would like to inquire if you have a program for a Spanish summer language program for 14 year-olds from the US this Summer 2021.

    Thank you!

  21. Hi,
Are you currently offering online medical spanish training during the covid19 pandemic? I’m interested in one on one training a few hours per week.

    Thanks!

  22. Meegan Van Straaten

    Hi Leslie and Rory,
It is Meegan Van Straaten your long lost friend! I am involved with the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) and we just had a virtual conference. ASIA has a relatively new committee called the America’s committee and it’s goal is to improve the care of those with spinal cord injury living in Latin America. They have already provided so much impact with their work. They have a YouTube channel in which they have translated some educational videos. I thought you could use these videos in some of your education to medical professionals:) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClzLfl5nfiWR1Uk8cXxl11g/videos

We may have future need for translation services at conferences. I will keep you posted if an opportunity arises!

Hope you, the kids and your business is doing well!
    Meegan

  23. My wife and I stay in Denver on May/2021 and we want learn English for 4 weeks.

Do you have any programs for us?

    Thank you.

  24. Barbara Howell

    Hi Rory and Leslie,
I’ve been a nurse for over 40 years–30 of it overseas. When coming back to the US, I realized that a significant portion of my patients are now Spanish speaking and so began trying to learn Spanish about 5 years ago. I just recently found your common ground international lessons and watch them on youtube medical spanish. They are great–well done, helpful, relevant and in bite-size chunks. Thanks so much. One request. Mother baby is my specialty and I really was delighted to find your lecture Rory on labor and delivery, antepartum and postpartum. BUT…it seems like the one I saw, your camera wasn’t focused so I couldn’t see your whiteboard. Is there a possibility of recording that one again?

Bless you both for what you are doing. You’re making the world a place where people can understand and empathize with each other more.

    Thanks
    Barb

    1. Hey Barb, thanks for the note! Yes let me find that one and re-do it. It must have been one of the early ones when we were doing facebook live videos – some of those didn’t turn out too well. Might take me a week or two to get to it, but I’ll redo. Thanks for being a part of our community and for your work with the underserved!

  25. Karin Grantham

Greetings. I signed up for the Intercambio program and understood it was to start on May 4th. I have received no communication regarding the start or specific assignments, etc. I am checking in on the status and to better understand what to expect, since the charge did go through on May 1st. Thank you for all you do to promote language learning. Karin

  26. Rebecca Dunaway

I signed up for intercambio. I received my confirmation of payment. The instructions say I will immediately set up my profile but I don’t have access to do that. Can you help?

    1. Hey Rebecca, so glad to have you join us in Intercambio! Hang tight – you’re not behind. Leslie is putting together a quick start guide for everyone & will send it out asap. See you online soon!

    1. Hi Angie, I received your message about national certification for interpreters. There are a couple of national certifications for healthcare interpreters, and a federal certification for court interpreters. Which are you interested in?
