This is a 3 part workshop

You can register for parts 1, 2, 3 or all three! If you are registering for part 1 after Jan. 18th or part 2 after Feb. 16th, we will send you the replay, along with the lesson notes, practice activities and homework.

Part 1 – Jan. 18th Present Subjunctive (if you missed the live workshop, you can still register for part 1 and we will send you the replay, along with the lesson notes, practice activities and homework).

Part 2 – Feb. 16th Past Subjunctive – (if you missed the live workshop, you can still register for part 1 and we will send you the replay, along with the lesson notes, practice activities and homework)

Part 3 – March 15th When to Always, sometimes, and never use the Subjunctive! Register for the live workshop. If you cannot make it live, we will send you the recording, lesson notes and practice activities.

The Spanish subjunctive is really not that bad, but it has a reputation for tripping up Spanish learners. Once you learn how and when to use it, it’s fun and your Spanish sounds more sophisticated!

In this Spanish Subjunctive Workshop you will finally understand how and when to use it AND you will implement it right away during class activities.

In Part 1: Present subjunctive, you will learn:

  • Learn what it is and why it’s has such a bad stigma
  • 3 necessary elements that necessitate its use
  • How do you know when to use it. And how do you use it.
  • Present tense subjunctive verb conjugations
  • And- the most important part- you will practice using it immediately with a conversational partner as you complete activities together.

In Part 2 – Past Subjunctive, you will learn:

  • Continue to learn how and when to use the Spanish subjunctive and determine in which contexts it is always,  sometimes, and never used.
  • Learn 3 tips that trigger the past subjunctive
  • Learn past tense subjunctive verb conjugations
  • And of course, you will open your mouth and practice using it in small groups.

In part 3, you will learn:

  • When to sometimes, always and never use the subjunctive
  • Specific adverbial phrases to require the use of the subjunctive
  • Some great acronyms to help you remember
  • review present and past subjunctive verb conjugations
  • And of course, you will open your mouth and practice using it in small groups.

This workshop will will last approximately 75 minutes and will take place on Zoom. Once you register for this workshop you will get a confirmation email with the Zoom link.

Who is this class ideal for?

PART 1: The ideal student has studied Spanish before and has a working knowledge of present tense verbs and knows how to conjugate them. You are also able to communicate in the present tense and have can form and express sentences.

PART 2: The ideal student has studied the preterite verb tense and can conjugate verbs in the preterite verb tense. It would help also to be familiar with the conditional verb tense.

PART 3: The ideal student is familiar with the concept of the Spanish subjunctive, has learned about it in the past, and could use más y más práctica.
