Uses of the conditional tense in Spanish
The conditional tense is often used to express probability or possibilities of what may happen.
- Ella me dijo que irÃa a la fiesta.
- She told me she would go to the party.
- Los niños verÃan la pelÃcula también.
- The kids would watch the movie too.
It is also used to wonder or postulate about the past.
- ¿Quien serÃa?
- Who could it have been?
- EstarÃa ocupado y por eso no vino.
- He must have been busy and that’s why he didn’t come.
Conjugations of the conditional
The conditional tense is formed with only one set of endings for all verbs. To conjugate the future tense, do NOT remove the infinitive endings, rather attach the ending the infinitive forms.
