The past tense in Spanish is one of the more tricky concepts for English speakers learning Spanish. There are two past tenses (preterite and imperfect) and they are not used interchangeably. They have very specific uses that can change the meaning of what you are trying to say.

In this course we will help you master these past tenses!

In this course we delve into the vocabulary, verbs and sentence structure you need to master both the imperfect and preterite past tenses.

We provide you with quick and easy video lessons, downloadable lesson notes, templates, flashcards, quizzes and other activities for further study to acquire these Spanish skills and to test your knowledge.

Who is this class ideal for?

The ideal student has studied Spanish before and has a working knowledge of present tense verbs and knows how to conjugate them. You are also able to communicate in the present tense and can form and express sentences.

3 Pasos: In each lesson there are 3 steps to complete the lesson:

Paso 1: Download lesson notes and vocabulary lists

Paso 2: Watch the lesson and take notes using the lesson notes provided

Paso 3: ¡Practica! Practice the lesson objectives in a variety of practice activities

What is the format of this class?

In this asynchronous course, you will learn how to use both past tenses in Spanish at your own pace.

I might have missed something but when doing the PARA work sheets how was I to know wha the correct answers were.. The POR had a video to help see if you were in the correct track.

¡Hola Dan! Thank you for your feedback. 🙏 I just want to make sure I understand your comment correctly so we can make the necessary improvements. Each of the three lessons includes a live video lesson, along with downloadable, fillable PDF notes and activities, plus a fillable homework PDF with exercises (all PDFs include the answers at the very bottom). I checked the PARA lesson and the video is there and working. If you’re referring to something different, could you please clarify which part of the course you meant? ¡Gracias!
