Conditional Tense in Spanish
The conditional expresses what would happen — probability, possibility, and wondering about the past. It shares its irregular stems with the future tense.
Express probability or what would happen
Ella me dijo que iría a la fiesta. She told me she would go to the party.
Los niños verían la película también. The kids would watch the movie too.
Wonder or speculate about the past
¿Quién sería? Who could it have been?
Estaría ocupado y por eso no vino. He must have been busy — that’s why he didn’t come.
Regular conditional conjugations
Like the future, attach the conditional endings to the full infinitive — one set of endings for all verbs.

The same verbs that are irregular in the future take the same stems here — just add the conditional endings.
