Spanish for Teachers – Crisis Management

In this fast-paced and challenging world of education, unforeseen events can suddenly emerge and require quick and strategic responses even en español! The importance of effective crisis management in schools and classrooms is something that cannot be overemphasized; it’s a protective shield that safeguards the well-being of students and faculty, and upholds the core values of an enriching and safe learning environment. 

This course focuses on learning real-life, relevant Spanish needed in order to communicate with students during crisis scenarios. The emphasis of this course is to help educators communicate effectively in Spanish with students and parents/guardians who are not fluent in English.

In this course, You will learn how to communicate effectively about these three common topics:

1. Individual Crisis Incidents – Like in case of a medical emergency, an anxiety or panic attack.
2. Group Crisis Incidents – Like in case of natural disasters, evacuations and fire drills.
3. Linguistic strategies to foster a culture of preparedness, resilience and safety at school – Lockdowns, lock-ins, routine drills, etc.

We will practice content from lesson 2: Group Crisis Incidents.  In this live session you will have an opportunity to reinforce and use the Spanish that you’ve been learning in these lessons.

Zoom Class 3 – March 27

We will practice content from lesson 3: Exercises and strategies to encourage emergency and crisis preparedness. In this live session you will have an opportunity to reinforce and use the Spanish that you’ve been learning in these lessons.

We believe you have to APPLY what you’re learning! What good is all that head knowledge without opening your mouth, making mistakes and using the Spanish your are learning!!!

One week before the live class, you will receive an email with your lesson to study. You will have one week to study the grammar, vocabulary and phrases and then you will come to the live workshop on Zoom to practice what you’ve been learning!!!
